EAT WELL, PLAY WELL, LIVE WELL

Closing December 3

By popular demand, we will be extending our exhibit Eat Well, Play Well, Live Well until December 2017! This highly interactive exhibit encourages healthy living by teaching the science of making healthful food choices and discovering fun and interesting ways to stay active. Students learn about healthful food serving sizes and why it’s important to “eat a rainbow” of fruits and veggies. They can shop for and serve healthful meals in our “Good Food Drive-In Diner” using a display of sugar, salt, and fat in common foods as their guide. Students discover what it takes to burn-off calories and they get the chance to test their flexibility and balance. Explore models of the human heart, eye, and kidney in our medical doctor’s office and examine x-rays while treating pretend patients. Search-and-find guides are provided for different grade levels.

EAT WELL, PLAY WELL was produced and is toured by the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. This exhibit was made possible by a Science Education Partnership Award (SEPA) grant from the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR), a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
