JANUARY 8 | HOMESCHOOL SCIENCE: GREEN ENERGY | 3:00PM-4:00PM
Students discuss the impact an ever-growing human population has on our planet’s limited natural resources. They work in groups to design an offshore energy farm consisting of model wind turbines and use the Engineering Design Process to decide on the most efficient placement in the wave zones and work under the constraints of animal migration patterns, shifting winds or an unstable ocean floor. Students also learn to calculate the energy output and cost based on the parts used in construction.

A family-friendly planetarium show geared for young explorers that covers the basics of space travel and a view of the night’s sky. Tot Planetarium is recommended for space explorers ages 3 and under. Seating is limited, please arrive early to claim your pass

Rain falls from the sky, but where does it go next? Examine the journey of water as it makes its way to streams and rivers in this hands-on science lab. Learn what you and your family can do to be better stewards of our region’s waterways.
JANUARY 24 |CHALLENGER COMMUNITY MISSION |6:00PM-8:30PM
Community Missions launch families, friends, and space enthusiasts on an exciting voyage of discovery where you can experience what it is like to work for NASA! Work with a team to build a probe, support astronauts from mission control, and discover how tests are performed in space. A thrilling, interactive learning experience.
